Hands Across the Lake Events Photo Page

Hands Across the Lake held a Swift Creek Watershed Cleanup with volunteers from New Ventures Christian Church.  Pictures have been added to the hands Across the Lake Photo Group.  Also see photos of HAL on Earth Day 2009 and 2011 at John Tyler Community College and a Swift Creek Watershed Clean Up.

Nature Camp

For two successive years, HAL sponsored a Nature Day Camp during July, with one week in Brandermill for ages 6-10 and a second week in Woodlake for ages 11 - 14 .  Betty Clapp coordinated the work of the two paid directors and the many parent/student volunteers.  Unfortunately, the third year camp was cancelled because of problems with liability insurance.

Clover Hill Students Own Study of Development on the Swift Creek Reservior

"For the second year in a row, the Clover Hill High School (CHHS) science department has been the recipient of a classroom grant from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The grant provided funding for students to study the impact of increased development on the drinking water supply of Swift Creek Reservoir during school years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009."
